QuickBooks Enterprise shipping software turns sales orders and invoices into carrier labels and gives finance the freight cost per order. GoatLabels does this from a CSV export or a REST API call, rate-shopping USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL on each parcel for $0 a month on Free or $40 a month flat on Pro. It has no native QuickBooks connector and does not write back to your company file.
USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL quoted side by side on each parcel from your QuickBooks orders, from one account with no carrier contracts to open.
Each label debits the quoted amount to a dated ledger entry that carries your invoice or sales order number.
A QuickBooks shipper has four realistic routes: the Shipping Manager built into QuickBooks Desktop and Enterprise, a shipping app from the QuickBooks app store, an enterprise multi-carrier system, or a file and API handoff to a label service. GoatLabels is the last of these. It quotes DHL and needs no carrier accounts, but nothing syncs on its own. Vendor facts were checked on 2026-10-06 against the sources below.

| GoatLabels | QuickBooks Shipping Manager | QuickBooks app store shipping app | Enterprise multi-carrier system | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| How orders arrive | A report exported to Excel and saved as CSV, up to 500 rows per import, or a REST API call from your own script. | Inside QuickBooks Desktop and Enterprise, from the form you are working on. | A packaged app syncs orders to a shipping platform. ShipStation, for example, has a QuickBooks Online app listing. | Integrated by the vendor or a partner as an implementation project. |
| Carriers | USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL quoted on every parcel, plus an international network. | UPS, USPS, and FedEx. The newer version connects FedEx, UPS, and Stamps.com as external carriers. | Depends on the app and the carrier accounts you connect to it. | Usually many carriers and regions under your own contracts. |
| Carrier accounts and setup | None to open. Labels are bought on GoatLabels' accounts; your own negotiated rates cannot be imported. | External carriers are added inside QuickBooks, and only a QuickBooks admin can add them. | You install the app, authorize it against QuickBooks, and map fields. | Your own carrier contracts, loaded during implementation. |
| Cost and tracking back to QuickBooks | A ledger export keyed by your invoice or sales order number, plus signed webhooks. No automatic write-back. | Handled in QuickBooks, since the shipment starts there. | Written back by the app where its mapping supports it. | Written back by the integration. |
| Price and commitment | Free $0 a month with 50 shipments, or Pro $40 a month flat with unlimited shipments. No contract. | Not stated on the vendor's page. | Set by the app vendor; check its listing. | Quoted by sales. |

QuickBooks Enterprise shipping software is any tool that takes the ship-to address and order number from a QuickBooks sales order or invoice, buys a carrier label, and returns tracking and cost. QuickBooks includes one such tool, Shipping Manager, the QuickBooks Desktop shipping integration that also covers Enterprise. Everything else sits outside the company file and is fed by an app, a file, or an API.
The choice matters most to B2B shippers, because a wholesale order often leaves as several cartons to a business address and the freight has to be billed back or absorbed on purpose. The right QuickBooks multi-carrier shipping tool is the one that prices each carton across carriers and leaves finance a cost per invoice, not only a printed label.
Export the open sales orders or invoices as a report, save it as CSV, and import the file into GoatLabels, which prints the QuickBooks Enterprise shipping labels from that upload. QuickBooks Desktop exports reports to Excel, and Excel saves a sheet as CSV. The importer takes up to 500 rows per file, names the row and field of any error, and keeps going when one row is bad.
Build the report once with the columns a label needs: ship-to name, company, address lines, and the order or invoice number as the reference. Weights and carton dimensions rarely live in QuickBooks, so you can add those columns at the pack bench before importing. Nothing is installed in QuickBooks and no admin has to change a setting.
Yes, QuickBooks Online shipping labels work by file or by API, not by a GoatLabels app. Export the invoices or sales you plan to ship from QuickBooks Online, save the file as CSV, and run the same bulk import. GoatLabels is not listed in the QuickBooks app store, so no order appears in it automatically.
A developer can automate the handoff. QuickBooks Online documents webhooks, so a small service on your side can react to a new invoice, call the GoatLabels REST API to quote four carriers, and buy the label your rule picks. The API has unlimited calls on every plan, test keys, and Idempotency-Key support so a retry never buys a second label.
It gets back by export, because GoatLabels does not write into QuickBooks. Every label debits the quoted amount from a prepaid wallet and creates a dated ledger entry carrying the invoice or sales order number you sent. Export the ledger and you have freight cost per invoice, ready to enter or import on your side.
A multi-carton order produces one ledger line per label, all with the same reference, so the total per order is a simple sum. Carrier re-weigh adjustments post to the same ledger as their own lines. Your bookkeeper sees wallet top-ups as the payments and the ledger as the detail behind them, with no separate carrier invoice to match.
It is the wrong fit if you need labels created inside the QuickBooks screen, automatic write-back of tracking and freight to the invoice, or your own negotiated UPS or FedEx rates. GoatLabels offers none of those. Shipping Manager or an app store shipping app is the better match for that workflow.
It is also parcel only. There is no LTL or freight booking, no retailer compliance labels or EDI documents, no hazmat service, no sub-accounts, and no phone support. It suits a QuickBooks team that ships parcels to business customers, wants DHL and USPS quoted next to UPS and FedEx, and is content to move data by export or a short script.

If you have a developer, skip the file. A small service on your side reads the order from QuickBooks, calls the REST API to quote USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL, and buys the label. Calls are unlimited on every plan, with live and test keys, Idempotency-Key support, signed replayable webhooks, and rate-limit headers. The script is yours to own; GoatLabels ships no QuickBooks app.
