WMS shipping integration hands a packed carton from the warehouse system to a label service and returns tracking. GoatLabels takes that handoff as a CSV file of up to 500 rows or a REST API call, rate-shops USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL, and auto-prints through PrintNode. It is Free at $0 or Pro at $40 a month and has no native WMS connector.
USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL quoted together on each carton your WMS closes, from one account with no carrier contracts to set up.
Each label debits the quoted amount to a dated ledger entry that carries your order, wave, or client reference.
WMS parcel shipping integration takes one of four shapes: its own parcel module, a shipping app it syncs with, an enterprise multi-carrier parcel system, or a file and API handoff to a label service. GoatLabels is the last kind. The vendor facts below were checked on 2026-10-06 and are sourced under the table.

WMS shipping integration is the handoff between the warehouse management system, which knows what was picked and packed, and the service that buys the carrier label. The WMS sends the ship-to address, carton weight and dimensions, and a reference. The label service returns a label, a tracking number, and a cost.
The handoff can happen at three points: before picking, as a batch file for the whole wave; at carton close, as an API call from the pack screen; or after packing, as an export that a shipping clerk imports. Which point you choose decides how much has to be built and how quickly the label reaches the packer.
Yes. Export the packed or ready-to-ship orders from the WMS as a CSV and import the file into GoatLabels, which accepts up to 500 rows per file. An error names the row and the field, and one bad row does not fail the batch, so a single bad address does not hold up the rest of the wave.
Check your WMS's export or report feature for a shipment or order list with address and weight columns. The file route needs no development, which makes it a sensible pilot. Its limit is timing: labels arrive as a batch after the export runs, not one by one as each carton is closed.
A script or workflow beside the WMS calls the GoatLabels REST API when the packer closes a carton: create the shipment, read the four carrier quotes, and buy the one your rule picks. That gives the pack screen WMS multi-carrier shipping without a carrier contract for each lane. Calls are unlimited on every plan, and an Idempotency-Key means a retried call after a timeout does not buy a second label.
Live and test keys let you build against test data first, and the OpenAPI 3.1 spec lets a developer generate a client. Tracking updates come back on signed webhooks that can be replayed. GoatLabels has no packaged app for any WMS, so someone on your side owns the code that makes these calls.
GoatLabels sends labels to the pack station's printer through PrintNode auto-print, so the packer does not open a file and click print for every carton. Printer setup is done on the PrintNode side, and the label prints when it is bought, whether that came from the dashboard, a CSV import, or the API.
An order packed into several cartons produces several labels, and each one is its own ledger line carrying the same reference. That keeps the cost of a three-carton order together for billing. GoatLabels prints carrier labels only; it does not produce GS1-128 retailer compliance labels or packing documents from EDI.
It is the wrong choice if you need a vendor-supported WMS carrier integration inside the warehouse system, your own negotiated carrier rates, LTL or freight, retailer compliance labels, or a contractual SLA, because GoatLabels offers none of those. It is parcel only, on USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and an international network.
A 3PL that must keep a separate balance for each client should also look elsewhere: GoatLabels has one prepaid wallet per account, with no sub-accounts, though every ledger line carries the reference you send. It fits warehouses whose parcels can ship on shared rates and whose team can run an export or own a small script.

The WMS knows the carton, the weight, and the ship-to at the moment of close. The REST API serves as the WMS shipping label API: a script rate-shops and buys the label right then, with unlimited calls on every plan, live and test keys, Idempotency-Key support, signed replayable webhooks, and rate-limit headers. PrintNode sends the label to the station printer.
