Medical supply shipping software turns clinic and dental office orders into carrier labels and records what each parcel cost. GoatLabels does this for ordinary, non-regulated supplies: it rate-shops USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL per parcel on Free at $0 a month or Pro at $40 flat. It offers no cold-chain, hazmat, or regulated-goods service.
USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL quoted together on each carton of gloves, disposables, or consumables, from one account with no carrier contracts to set up.
Every label debits the quoted amount to a dated ledger entry that carries your order or customer account reference.
A supply distributor usually picks between four routes: a label service such as GoatLabels, the carriers' own websites and tools, a subscription shipping platform, or an enterprise multi-carrier or freight system. The alternatives are described generically here because plans differ by vendor. Everything on this page concerns ordinary, non-regulated supplies only.

Medical supply shipping software takes the orders a distributor has picked and packed for clinics, dental offices, and care facilities, buys a carrier label for each carton, and records the tracking number and cost against the order. It replaces retyping addresses into several carrier websites during the afternoon rush.
For a supply house the pattern is steady: many small replenishment orders, the same few hundred ship-to addresses, and cartons of gloves, masks, gauze, and other consumables. Software earns its place by quoting several carriers on each carton, printing labels in a batch, and leaving a cost record that finance can tie to a customer account. Whether you call it medical supply distributor shipping software, dental supply shipping software, or shipping software for medical supplies, that is the job.
This page covers only ordinary, non-regulated consumables that carriers accept as regular parcels, such as exam gloves, paper and plastic disposables, and dental or clinic consumables with no special handling needs. Prescription drugs, controlled items, temperature-sensitive products, and anything a carrier classes as hazardous are outside what this page covers.
Do not assume a product is ordinary because it looks routine. USPS, for example, says hand sanitizers, including wipes, are handled as hazardous matter and limited to surface transportation in domestic mail. Check every such product against each carrier's current published rules before you ship it. GoatLabels has no hazmat, cold-chain, or regulated-goods service and cannot advise on classification.
Heavy or bulky cases can trigger carrier surcharges or exceed a service's limits, so weigh and measure every carton before you buy the label. USPS Priority Mail has a maximum weight of 70 pounds and a maximum combined length and girth of 108 inches.
UPS states that Additional Handling applies automatically to packages with an actual weight of more than 50 pounds, and its criteria include a longest side over 48 inches or a second-longest side over 30 inches. In clinic supply parcel shipping, a full case of gloves or liquids can pass 50 pounds quickly. Because GoatLabels quotes four carriers on each carton, you see the all-in number for each before choosing, and splitting an order into two lighter cartons is one order with two labels.
Export the day's ready orders from your order system as a CSV file and import it into GoatLabels, which accepts up to 500 rows per file. Errors name the row and the field, and one bad row does not fail the batch, so a clinic with a missing suite number holds back one order, not the whole run of medical supply shipping labels.
Each label debits a prepaid wallet and writes a dated ledger entry carrying the reference you supplied, such as the clinic's account number or purchase order. A multi-carton order produces several labels with the same reference. GoatLabels has no native ERP or WMS connector and does not write back to your system; a file export, the API, or a webhook on your side carries tracking and cost home.
It is the wrong choice if you ship prescription drugs, controlled items, temperature-sensitive products, or hazardous goods, because GoatLabels provides no service, documentation, or advice for any of them. It is also the wrong choice if you need your own negotiated carrier rates, LTL or pallet freight, an SLA, or phone support.
With a mixed catalog you can split the work: regulated and special-handling lines stay with a carrier program or an enterprise system built for them, and the ordinary consumables go out as parcels. GoatLabels suits that second stream, where the job is many plain cartons a day, compared across four carriers, with a clean cost record per customer.

If your order system or ERP can call a web service, the REST API can quote and buy a label when an order is packed. Calls are unlimited on every plan, with live and test keys, Idempotency-Key support, signed replayable webhooks, an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, and rate-limit headers. There is no packaged ERP connector, so your team owns the script.
