Electronics distributor shipping software buys carrier labels for component and device orders and records what each parcel cost. GoatLabels rate-shops USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL on every parcel from one account, at $0 a month on Free or $40 a month flat on Pro. It offers no hazmat or dangerous-goods service, so regulated lithium battery shipments must be arranged with the carrier.
USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL quoted together on each parcel of components or devices, from one account with no carrier contracts to set up.
Every label debits the quoted amount to a dated ledger entry that carries your sales order or customer reference.
Shipping software for electronics distributors comes in four forms: each carrier's own website and tools, a subscription shipping platform, an enterprise multi-carrier system, or a label service such as GoatLabels. GoatLabels quotes four carriers from one account and keeps a prepaid ledger, but it has no hazmat or dangerous-goods service. The table describes the alternatives generally.

Electronics distributor shipping software turns a picked order of components or devices into a carrier label and a recorded shipping cost. For a distributor the work is mostly small, dense, valuable cartons going to engineers, contract manufacturers, repair shops, and resellers, often several orders to the same buyer in one week.
The software has three jobs: take the ship-to address, weight, and order number from wherever orders live; compare carriers and services and buy the label; and keep a record finance can tie to the invoice. GoatLabels does those three jobs for parcels on USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. It does not manage inventory, pick lists, or freight.
Only under the carrier's own rules, and GoatLabels offers no hazmat or dangerous-goods service. Regulated lithium battery shipments must be arranged directly with the carrier, which decides what it accepts, how it is packed and marked, and which services may carry it. Shipping software for electronic devices, GoatLabels included, does not change any of that.
The carriers publish their positions. USPS treats lithium batteries as hazardous material, says small consumer-type primary lithium cells are mailable domestically under certain conditions, and requires pre-owned, damaged, or defective devices with lithium batteries to go by ground. UPS accepts hazardous materials on a contract basis only. Read the current rules before you ship anything with a battery.
Use the signature and declared-value options the carrier offers, and choose them per parcel rather than by habit. A reel of passives and a carton of finished devices do not need the same handling, so the carrier and service should follow the value of the carton, not only the lowest quote.
Included coverage differs by service. USPS states that Priority Mail includes up to $100 of insurance with most shipments, which is well below the value of many electronics cartons. With GoatLabels, check the options shown with each quote before buying; the coverage terms and any claim are governed by the carrier. Every label also writes a ledger line with your reference, which gives you a record of what shipped and when.
By file, by store connector, or by API. GoatLabels imports a CSV of up to 500 rows per file and names the row and field of any error, and one bad row does not fail the batch. Check your ERP's export or saved-search feature for a list of released orders, which is enough to start.
Web orders can arrive through 13 store connectors, including Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Amazon, and eBay. A developer can instead call the REST API at release time, with unlimited calls on every plan. An order packed into several cartons produces several labels, each a ledger line with the same reference. There is no native ERP or WMS connector.
It is the wrong choice if regulated lithium battery or other dangerous-goods shipments are a routine part of your outbound, because GoatLabels provides no hazmat service, paperwork, or marking. It is also wrong if you need your own negotiated carrier rates, LTL or freight, an SLA, SSO, or a native ERP connector.
Distributors in that position usually need carrier contracts and an enterprise multi-carrier system. Size matters too: USPS Priority Mail, for example, has a maximum of 70 lb and 108 inches in combined length and girth, and pallets are outside GoatLabels entirely. As electronic components shipping software, it suits distributors whose non-regulated orders leave as parcels and who want four carriers quoted without contracts.

Your order system already knows the ship-to, the cartons, and the weights. The REST API lets a script rate-shop and buy the label when an order is released, with unlimited calls on every plan, live and test keys, Idempotency-Key support, signed replayable webhooks, and rate-limit headers. The dashboard and the API spend the same prepaid wallet.
