Warehouse shipping labels from one queue

One queue in, thermal labels out.

Warehouse shipping labels work best when every order lands in one queue and each label prints at the station that packed it, which GoatLabels does with 13 connectors, bulk CSV import, a REST API, four carriers quoted side by side, and auto-print via PrintNode or the browser.

How do orders get into a warehouse label queue?

Warehouse shipping labels work best when every order lands in one queue and each label prints at the station that packed it. GoatLabels takes orders from 13 storefront connectors, bulk CSV import, a REST API, or a pasted message, rate-shops USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL, and auto-prints via PrintNode or the browser. The table below matches each kind of order to its intake path.

Updated

Kind of orderHow it gets inWhen to use it
Orders from a connected storeSync from any of 13 connectors (Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay, TikTok Shop, Etsy, Walmart, BigCommerce, Squarespace, Wix, Square, Magento, Temu) straight into the To Ship queue.Tracking is pushed back to the store when the label prints, so nobody keys it in afterwards.
Orders exported from a WMS or ERPBulk CSV import. Header aliasing maps the system's column names to recipient, address, and parcel fields without a template per export.Best for the daily pick-list dump: up to 500 rows per import; errors name the row and field, and one bad row does not fail the batch.
Orders your system creates in real timeThe REST label API with one Bearer header. Create the shipment, compare rates, buy the label from the WMS itself.Best when the warehouse system already knows the box and the weight at pack time.

Paying for the labelsPay-as-you-go from a prepaid wallet. No monthly fee, no seat count. One balance for every station and every intake path above.

Every path above lands in the same To Ship queue and buys from the same prepaid wallet. Mix them freely — a warehouse rarely gets all of its orders one way.

What does a warehouse label workflow have to get right?

One queue for every intake path

A warehouse takes orders from stores, from spreadsheets, from a WMS, and from the phone. Each of those has its own way in — connector, CSV, API, or assistant — but they all land in the same To Ship queue, so the pack station works one list ordered by pickup time.

The label should print where the box is

Auto-print through PrintNode routes each purchased label to the thermal printer at the station that bought it. A station without PrintNode prints straight from the browser. Either way there is no download step between buying the label and applying it.

Stations should not cost seats

Adding a second or fifth pack station is a printer and a login, not a plan upgrade. Labels are pay-as-you-go from one prepaid wallet with no monthly fee, so a station that is idle in a slow week costs nothing that week.

And when you should stay where you are

  • You need carriers outside USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL, or you ship from an origin other than the US and Singapore.
  • You are looking for a WMS with bin locations, wave picking, and inventory counts. GoatLabels is the label and rate layer that sits beside a WMS, not a replacement for one.
  • Your existing print setup is wired into a platform your carrier contract depends on, and nothing about it is broken.
Orders in, labels out

Connect the stores. Import the rest. Print at the station.

Connect a Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay, TikTok Shop, Etsy, Walmart, BigCommerce, Squarespace, Wix, Square, Magento, or Temu store and its orders land in the To Ship queue. Orders that arrive as a spreadsheet come in through bulk CSV import, where header aliasing maps whatever the sender called each column. Orders that arrive as a message or a screenshot go to the AI assistant, which drafts the label for you to confirm. Every label is rate-shopped across USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL, paid from a prepaid wallet with no monthly fee, and auto-printed through PrintNode or the browser at the station that needs it.

Moving a label engine should not cost you the carriers, the store sync, or the API. Those all come with you. What does not come with you is a monthly fee sized to your peak month — and what is new is an assistant that turns an unstructured order into a drafted label.

The dock, not the desk

An email is a valid order input.

Subscription platforms expect the order to already exist somewhere they can read. When it arrives as a message, you become the integration — retyping a name, an address, and a weight into a laptop you are not sitting at. GoatLabels takes the message itself, on the phone that is already at the pack station.

Paste the order or drop a screenshot — the AI assistant pulls out the recipient, the address, and the parcel.
Bulk CSV import with header aliasing for the files that arrive by the hundred.
USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL come back as four rates on one screen.
Buy from the prepaid balance and auto-print via PrintNode or the browser.
Hold the mic at the station and say the address — the assistant drafts it and reads the rate back.
Hands full of cartons

Talk to the assistant, not to an import screen.

Packing is a two-hands job, and most software's answer is a form. Hold the mic, say who the parcel is going to, and the assistant drafts the label, rate-shops USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL, and queues it against your prepaid balance — then answers for it afterwards when a client asks where the parcel is. This is the real product, not a render.

Warehouse shipping labels — FAQ

How do I print shipping labels in a warehouse?
Put every order into one queue, rate-shop each parcel, and route the purchased label to the printer at the station that packed it. In GoatLabels, orders arrive through 13 storefront connectors, bulk CSV import, the REST API, or a pasted message; each label is quoted across USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL; and auto-print via PrintNode or the browser puts it on the thermal printer at that station.
Can I print shipping labels from multiple pack stations?
Yes. Each station either runs auto-print through PrintNode, which sends the label to that station's printer the moment it is purchased, or prints from the browser. Every station buys from the same prepaid wallet and works the same To Ship queue.
Can I import a pick list as a CSV and print all the labels?
Yes. Bulk CSV import accepts the export from your WMS or ERP, and header aliasing maps its column names to the recipient, address, and parcel fields without building a template for each system. Each import takes up to 500 rows; errors name the row and field, and one bad row does not fail the batch. The rows land in the To Ship queue ready to rate-shop and buy.
Does the warehouse need a subscription to print labels?
No. Labels are pay-as-you-go from a prepaid wallet, with no monthly fee and no per-station seat. A slow week costs nothing beyond the labels that actually printed.
Which carriers can the warehouse rate-shop?
USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL, quoted side by side on every parcel, from US and Singapore origins. That is the complete list, so a warehouse that relies on a regional carrier outside it should keep the tool that covers it.
Can my WMS create the labels directly?
Yes. The REST label API takes one Bearer header, and a warehouse system can create the shipment, compare rates, and buy the label in a few calls. Auto-print via PrintNode then drops the label at the station, with nothing retyped between the two systems.
