Multi-location shipping software

Every site, one wallet, spend by location.

Multi-location shipping software lets one team ship from several warehouses, stores, or offices without a separate account per site. GoatLabels does it with saved ship-from locations, each with an optional warehouse code, a per-location shipments filter and spend breakdown, and USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL rate-shopped from every US or Singapore origin.

What is multi-location shipping software?

Multi-location shipping software is a label tool that treats each warehouse, store, or office as a named origin inside one account, so a team can buy labels from any site and still see costs per site. The alternative is a separate login, balance, and invoice per location, which is what most growing operations are trying to leave behind.

It is not the same as an order management system. An OMS or WMS decides which site should ship an order based on stock. Shipping software buys the label from the site you or that system chose. Knowing which one you need saves a long evaluation.

How does GoatLabels handle more than one ship-from location?

GoatLabels stores each site as a saved ship-from location, records the location on every shipment, and reports label spend by location. Here is how each part works.

Save every site as a ship-from location

Each warehouse, store, or office is a saved location with a nickname, an optional warehouse code such as BK01, and an optional operator tag. One location is the default ship-from, and the default return address is set separately.

Pick the origin on each shipment

Create Shipment lists your saved locations in its Ship From picker. Orders from connected stores start from the default location, and you can switch any shipment to another site before you buy the label.

See spend by location

Every shipment keeps the location it left from. The Shipments list filters by location, and the dashboard shows shipment count and label spend per location, with one-off addresses grouped on their own line.

Send the location through the API

POST /v1/shipments accepts a saved address id as from_address_id, so your WMS or OMS names the site instead of resending its address. The /v1/addresses endpoints list, create, and update saved locations.

How do multi-location tools compare?

All three tools below save several ship-from addresses; they differ on inventory routing and billing. ShipStation routes orders by stock across warehouses, Shippo keeps multiple sender addresses, and GoatLabels adds per-location spend on one prepaid wallet without routing inventory.

Which order sources work with multiple locations?

All four order sources work with multiple locations, but each one chooses the origin differently:

  • Dashboard. Pick the location in the Ship From picker on each shipment.
  • 13 store connectors. Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay, TikTok Shop, Etsy, Walmart, BigCommerce, Squarespace, Wix, Square, Magento, and Temu orders start from the default location; change it per shipment before you buy.
  • REST API. Send from_address_id on POST /v1/shipments, or an inline from address. Calls are unlimited on every plan, with test keys, Idempotency-Key, and signed webhooks.
  • Bulk CSV import. Up to 500 rows per file, quoted and bought from the default location. Run one file per site. Errors name the row and field, and one bad row does not fail the batch.

What does GoatLabels not do for multi-location teams?

GoatLabels does not route inventory or split accounts by location, and it helps to know the rest of the limits before a call:

  • No sub-accounts, per-location wallets, or per-location user permissions. Every location spends from one prepaid wallet, and separation is by location on each shipment.
  • No inventory, bin, or order-routing logic. GoatLabels is the label and rate layer. If you need a system to decide which warehouse ships an order, keep your WMS or OMS and let it call the API.
  • Bulk CSV import buys against the default ship-from location for the whole file. Run one file per location and switch the default between runs.
  • Origins are the US and Singapore. Sites in other countries cannot be a ship-from location today.
  • No bring-your-own carrier accounts, no negotiated contracts, no SSO, no SLAs, and no LTL or freight. Parcels only, on GoatLabels' carrier rates.

What does shipping from several locations cost?

Adding a location costs nothing on GoatLabels: there is no fee per site, seat, or API call. The Free plan is $0 a month with 50 shipments a month, and you pay for each label from a prepaid wallet funded by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH, or crypto. Most multi-site teams pass 50 shipments quickly, so plan on Pro: a flat $40 a month for unlimited shipments and cheaper label rates.

Every label debits the quoted amount and posts a dated ledger entry with your reference. Carrier adjustments, such as a re-weigh, show as their own records instead of a surprise on a month-end invoice.

Multi-location shipping software: FAQ

What is multi-location shipping software?
Multi-location shipping software lets one team buy labels from several warehouses, stores, or offices in a single account. It stores each site as a ship-from address, lets you choose the origin per shipment, and reports spend by site. GoatLabels does this with saved ship-from locations, a location filter, and per-location spend on the dashboard.
Can GoatLabels ship from more than one warehouse?
Yes. Save each warehouse as a ship-from location with a nickname and an optional warehouse code, set one as the default, and pick a different location on any shipment. Origins can be in the US or Singapore.
Can I see shipping costs per location?
Yes. Each shipment records the location it left from. The dashboard shows shipment count and label spend per location, and the Shipments list filters by location, with one-off addresses grouped separately.
Does GoatLabels route orders to the nearest warehouse automatically?
No. GoatLabels holds no inventory, so it does not decide which site ships an order. Orders from connected stores start from your default location and you change it per shipment, or your WMS or OMS picks the site and passes it as from_address_id through the API.
Can each location have its own account or wallet?
No. There are no sub-accounts or per-location wallets. All locations spend from one prepaid wallet, and the location on each shipment is how you split costs.
What does multi-location shipping cost on GoatLabels?
There is no fee per location. The Free plan covers 50 shipments a month and you pay for each label from your wallet. Pro is an optional flat $40 a month for unlimited shipments and cheaper label rates.
